I am not much of a cocktail drinker because I much more of a fan of beer and wine. However, I love whiskey – so I am always trying to cook up new recipes at my home bar! To get with the spirit, I created a Pomegranate Whiskey Sour.
This recipe is easy to make – if you don’t count having to separate the pomegranate seeds. That is the worst job ever – 0/10 recommend.
However, it has a great taste and is perfect for any holiday party – which is why I made this recipe Blogmas day 9!
This recipe serves two, but you can easily double it to serve four! Or 10 Pomegranate Whiskey Sours…
Ingredients
Pomegranate Simple Syrup:
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1/4 cup sugar
Cocktail:
2 ounces lemon juice (2 lemons)
4 ounces bourbon whiskey
2 ounces pomegranate syrup
Instructions
1. Make syrup by heating water and sugar until all sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat, add pomegranate seeds, and allow to cool completely.
2. Put pomegranate mixture in a blender and then strain through mesh strainer. Make sure the strainer is fine enough to keep the chopped up pieces from going in your mix! Keep the pink liquid and throw away the seeds.
3. To make the cocktail, combine bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, and pomegranate syrup in a shaker with ice. I think this drink taste great served with two ice cubes!
