I really can’t describe to you all how much I have been loving adding travel posts to my blog. I love traveling so much, but I get so busy – I feel like I never have the time.
This is why this short weekend the relaxing country of Dripping Springs was amazing. It brought together my favorite things – Texas sunsets, wine and Supernatural!
Here is a little breakdown on how to spend a short getaway weekend.
WHERE TO STAY
If you are going to stay in the hill country, you really need to be staying in a cabin or some type of lodging that requires going down a long rocky road.
We discovered a house called Sure Shot that was walking distances from the wineries (although I don’t recommend walking).
It was perfect! The house had tons of grilling options, a hot tub, a beautiful view, tons of games and entertaining spaces and three bedrooms. It is also really handicap accessible, so that’s just another bonus!
The decor was also super cute. Here is my best friend Sydney posing with this work of art.
Nearby was an even bigger house if you need more space! Hacienda Hang Fire also has a pool and every amenity you could ask for.
You can also enjoy some beautiful sunsets, like this great photo!
WHAT TO DO
Dripping Springs has at least eight wineries, six breweries, and two distilleries – and that’s just all I could find!
We visited Bell Springs Winery (it was walking distance from our house), and it was my favorite! There was live music, great atmosphere, and an Australian Shepherd as a mascot.
It was also a great price. We were able to do a tasting and keep the glass for $13! AND, if you bought a bottle, the tasting was free!
If you really want to go in on the wine scene, you should look into doing a wine tour! Click here if you want to look more into that!
If you read my must-visit places in Texas, you might remember how I wanted to visit the Family Business Beer Co. that was founded by Jensen Ackles from Supernatural that just opened.
WELL I CHECKED THAT OFF MY BUCKET LIST! This was another super great priced place that is family friendly! You can get a customized flight for $10, and there is a ton of merchandise.
We also had plans on checking out Deep Eddy Distillery, but we missed that chance.
Aside from all the drinking opportunities, Hamilton Pool is one of Texas’ treasures. You can find make a reservation here and explore what Texas nature has to offer.
WHERE TO EAT
If you are going to out to eat while you are here, we were told by locals to try Carmela’s and Epicure.
However, what I really recommend is a cookout! There is a H-E-B next by, and you should use your house rental with a grill and a great outdoor entertaining space!
THINGS TO REMEMBER
Dripping Springs is about being in the country while still having things to do! We had so much fun playing games in between our tours, so don’t forget to bring those!
HINT: Bring Dominoes and play chicken foot. It is so fun
Also, remember to relax and don’t keep it too structured. Sleep late, drink a lot and eat well!
