I have tons of beauty products because I am a blogger. I get stuff from different companies all the time, and although I don’t want to complain, it can take a toll on my bathroom cabinents.
And yes, I know how first-world-problem that sentence sounds.
However, my bathroom cabinents can be so overwhelming, I avoid them and don’t take care of my skin or hair.
I have so much junk everywhere that I honestly avoided my bathroom – unless I was taking a bubble bath.
My sister/personal assistant told me if we wanted to start spring cleaning, we needed to start by cleaning out my bathroom.
One week after the big cleanout, I have washed my face every day, blew my hair out twice and moisturized. I am like a brand new person!
I am going to start this post off with some before photos. Please don’t judge me.
We started by taking everything from the bathroom and putting in my floor or the washer.
I threw all of my towels and the shower curtain in the washing machine. All of the metal items I threw in the dishwasher while I sorted through all of my things.
I placed all of my bathroom items on the floor and organized them.
This was hard on its own. This is also the best time to throw things way that are old or that you dont use.
If something was unopened, I also put it away for a future garage sell (or regifting if you are into that).
After parting with so many items and organizing facial creams, we used some baskets we found at Target to organize them.
I own an older house, so I don’t have a vanity or anywhere to put all my things I use daily.
However, I have a few shelves that were overrun with products. My sister made me chose one of each item (one facial wash, one moisturizer, etc.) to put on my shelves for frequent use
Once I used all of that item, I could pick a new one from the stockpile.
I also did not have anywhere to put my toilet paper, so I bought this stand from Tuesday Morning!
Although organizing is a huge part of spring cleaning, you also have to CLEAN!
I started by soaking my showerhead with vinegar and lemon juice.
Check out the results:
I also cleaned all the walls and baseboards.
When you are spring cleaning, do not leave any stone unturned – INCLUDING YOUR AIR VENTS!
These few changes have made my life so much easier! I am not even exaggerating!
