One of the biggest arguments between me and my friends is about pickles. Half of us of love pickles and the other half despises them.
This constant back and forth led me to pull out my nana’s recipe for refrigerator pickles. They are incredibly easy to make – especially if you are not a pickling expert!
Ingredients
2 onions sliced
4 cups of apple cider vinegar
4 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of canning salt
1/4 tsp of turmeric
1 1/4 tsp of celery salt
Sliced cucumbers
Mason jars or gallon pickle jar
Directions
Combine vinegar, canning salt, and sugar
Heat mixture over the stove, just until sugar and salt are dissolved
Stir in turmeric and celery salt
Let mixture cool and then pour mixture into jars evenly
Put cucumbers and onions into jars and then refrigerate for at least two days.
What is your favorite type of pickle?
